(Dec. 12, 2024) — The Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation celebrates the remarkable success of its 10th annual Race Series presented by Summa Health, which inspired thousands of runners, walkers, and supporters to embrace health and wellness while making a lasting impact on the Akron community.
The 2024 Akron Marathon Race Series presented by Summa Health achieved record-breaking milestones:
- Nearly 12,000 participants celebrated personal victories across the series.
- 361 race entry scholarships were awarded through the Blue Line Runnership program, ensuring accessibility for all participants.
- Runners from 45 states and 8 countries contributed to an impressive $6 million economic boost for the greater Akron area.
- Over $200,000 was raised through the organization’s Blue Line Charity program, benefiting local organizations that make a meaningful difference.

Summa Health Returns as Presenting Sponsor for an Akron Bicentennial Celebration
As the Akron Marathon Race Series looks ahead to 2025, it is proud to announce the return of Summa Health as the presenting sponsor of the series. In addition, 2025 promises to be especially exciting as all Race Series events will align with the Akron Bicentennial Celebration, featuring a commemorative series medal designed to honor this historic milestone for the city.

The 2025 Akron Marathon Race Series presented by Summa Health will feature four signature events as part of the bicentennial festivities. Registration opens on Jan. 7, 2025, at AkronMarathon.org.

- Goodyear Half Marathon & 10k: Aug. 9, 2025
- The Mandel Family Kids Fun Run presented by Akron Children’s Hospital: Sept. 26, 2025
