Marathon 101 Course

Primary Objective:
Marathon Training 101 is a workshop offered through The University of Akron to students and community members alike that incorporates a running training program covering topics such as nutrition, physiology, bio-mechanics, running performance and other training principles. This course gives participants the knowledge and tools to complete a full marathon. The Road Runner AkronMarathon. Class is limited to 30 participants.

Finish Date Saturday Sept 25th, 2010

Meet Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings
 
6:30 to 8:00 a.m.

  • Road Runner Akron Marathon Registration
  • Bod Pod and VO2max testing
  • Support for training runs (water, etc)

Course Involves:
Up to three supported weekly runs
Independent runs
Lectures and notes from
            Sport Science and Wellness Department
            Sports Nutritionist
Exercise Testing
            VO2max and sub-maximal testing
            Bod Pod Body Composition Testing
            Flexibility and muscle endurance testing
